Hey.
As the title suggests I'm looking at getting a Wii... a Wii Mini, at that. Yeah,
I know that that particular console sucks compared to the original Wii and Wii
U, but since I'd be the one who would be using it more than Ed_G and I'm
more of a casual Wii Fit kind of casual player, online gaming would be lost on
me.. and E, for that matter, so it's not a feature that's important to me. I
had a Wii when I lived in Canada and liked it... I played with my Mom who is
a senior with low vision... it was fun teaching her how to do the ski jump
game on the Wii Fit.
Winter is fast approaching and with it comes the sucky weather, so I just
need something to run Wii Fit or even Dance Dance Revolution so I can get
some exercise instead of having to go out into the cold and wet that is
London in the winter... yes, I am a geek/dork, but I want to get some non
boring exercise in, and I think that a combination of Wii Fit and D D R would
fit the bill.
We've got an Apple TV, so we don't need the Wii to stream NetFlix or the
like.
Anyway, I was just wondering if you lot could tell this crazed sighted what
your favourite games are for the Wii that I might be able to interest Ed into
buying and playing. He likes soccer, so any sporting games of that nature
would be good... I also think that he might like some of the games on Wii
Sports like boxing.
Also, what are your opinions on V I Fit? I see that they have a couple of
games that utilise the Wiimote and a PC laptop... don't know how much
interest they'd hold, but I'd be willing to give them a whirl if you lot think
that they're worth the time/effort of downloading.
As always, I thank you for any and all input that you can offer.
Kate
I've tried the VI Fit games. If you can pickup a controlor at a good price than they're a bit of fun I guess, but you won't be getting any serious gameplay out of them. I got a used one for £10 on eBay & I don't regret the investment but that's more or less as much as the games justify spending IMO. I intended / intend to do something cool with the controlor; there are some Java classes which let you interface with it & it's been about 10 years since I made a game so something might be happening in that regard but I wouldn't hold your breth.
not sure if you're much for the fighting type of game, but I can recommend dragon ball Z budokai tenkaichi 3: simple controls, flashy, based off the anime, lots of explosions and energy blasts, audio in both english in japanese
tatsunoko Vs. capcom ultimate all stars: less flashy, gameplay is more technical and involves long chain combos and is a 2 on 2 fighting game with characters tagging in and out
also if you do have site, star wars the force unleashed is pretty fun, never got past the second level though as a totally blind gamer, had fun trying though
if you want a trivia game with a game show like atmosphere and lots of entertaining commentary, you don't know jack 2011
all of these games can be watched on youtube
